Legal Aid University, America's Second Harvest,
and Prevent Child Abuse America Select Isoph to Power Distance Learning,
Online Training, and Collaboration Initiatives
Carrboro, NC (January 20, 2004) - Isoph, an innovative
learning technology company serving nonprofits and other mission-driven
organizations, is pleased to announce three new nonprofit learning
and collaboration initiatives:
- Legal Aid University
Legal Aid University, the online campus of the Legal Services
Training Consortium of New England, provides access to educational
and professional development resources to support the work of
the civil legal aid community nationally. Funded by a Technology
Initiative Grant (TIG) from the Legal Services Corporation,
Legal Aid University uses a combination of distance learning
tools to bring exciting new training curricula, based on the
curricula already developed and tested by the Training Consortium,
to offices, programs, and individuals who have not had these
opportunities available to them before. Legal Aid University
is using Isoph Blue as its distance learning platform to develop,
manage, and deliver its training courses.
- America's Second Harvest
America's Second Harvest distributes nearly 2 billion pounds
of food each year, with a mission of creating a hunger-free
America. Its network includes more than 200 food banks and food
rescue organizations, serving every county in the United States.
As an important element of its technology strategy, Americas
Second Harvest is using an Isoph Blue learning portal to develop
e-learning programs to provide affordable and accessible online
training, increasing the skills of its entire network and freeing
up valuable dollars for the fight against hunger.
- Prevent Child Abuse America
Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America has led the way in
building awareness and providing access to resources and research
for preventing the abuse and neglect of our nations children.
Prevent Child Abuse America's network of chapters in 38 states
and the District of Columbia provides the leadership needed
to promote and implement prevention programs, education, and
advocacy at the national, state, and local level. Prevent Child
Abuse America is using an Isoph Blue collaboration portal to
support and enhance communication and collaboration between
national office staff and the chapters and within the chapter
network.
