ISOPH BLUE RECEIVES .NET CONNECTED CERTIFICATION
Web Services Make E-learning Integration a
Breeze
Carrboro,
NC (August 4, 2004) - Isoph, a leading provider of learning and
communications software and services for mission-driven organizations,
today announced that its flagship learning and communications platform,
Isoph Blue, has received Microsoft .NET certification. The certification
is awarded to applications developed in the Microsoft .NET framework
and independently tested for their support of standards-compliant
Web services.
"Web services have been central to our application
development strategy," said Nadeen Sakowski, Isoph's director
of technical services. "The .NET certification lets our clients
know that Isoph Blue functionalities can be easily integrated into
existing Web sites, intranets, and Web-enabled applications for
activities such as donor, fundraising, and member management."
"Learning technologies are increasingly central
to efforts to build organizational capacity as well as to boost
stakeholder outreach and engagement," said Isoph CEO Jeff Cobb.
"Web services reduce the timeline and cost for making cutting-edge
learning technologies part of an organization's ongoing strategy."
In simple terms, Web services make it possible for
existing Web sites and applications, regardless of the platform
on which they are built, to access the functionalities available
in the Isoph Blue application and make them seamlessly available
in the existing Web site or application. "We developed the
main WebJunction portal in Java," said Kannan Seshadri, lead
architect for WebJunction, a project of the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation that provides technical support and advice for public
librarians. "But Web services made it easy for us to use Isoph
Blue as a core component of the portal learning center. Isoph Blue
provides the functionalities, and we control how they are presented
to our users."
Isoph Blue Web services are compliant with the simple
object access protocol (SOAP) 1.2 standards established by the World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C). For information about Isoph Blue and
