MASSACHUSETTS CULTURAL COUNCIL LAUNCHES ONLINE VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Isoph Develops Online Course to Train Local
Cultural Council Leaders in All 351 Massachusetts Cities and Towns
Carrboro, NC (October 7, 2004) - Isoph, an innovative
learning technology company serving nonprofits, associations, and
other mission-driven organizations, is pleased to announce the launch
of LCC Basics Training, an online course to support the
Massachusetts Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program. The on-demand
course, developed by Isoph in conjunction with Massachusetts Cultural
Council staff, will replace the traditional face-to-face training
of over 2,500 LCC volunteer members each year.
Local cultural councils in each Massachusetts community
review applications from individuals, schools, and organizations
for projects in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences
that provide a local public benefit. Grant allocations are made
to all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns to support community cultural
activities.
"The LCC Basics Training online course
provides an accessible, convenient way for volunteer leaders in
every community to understand the requirements and techniques for
managing their local grant process," says Dawn Heinen, Massachusetts
Cultural Council technology project manager.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council promotes excellence,
access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive
sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts
residents and contribute to the economic vitality of communities.
The Local Cultural Council Program provides a grassroots complement
to the agency's centralized grant programs.
