OCLC WEBJUNCTION LEARNING CENTER MOVES TO ISOPH BLUE ENTERPRISE
EDITION
Expanded License Enables Distributed E-learning
Through Community Partners
Carrboro, NC (April 20, 2005) - Isoph, e-learning
success partner to membership organizations and nonprofits, today
announced that WebJunction, a project of OCLC Online Computer Library
Center, has licensed the enterprise edition of its flagship e-learning
platform, Isoph Blue. As a result, the online learning capabilities
that have been central to the success of the WebJunction portal
will be available in customized portals for WebJunction community
partners throughout the United States.
Since its launch in 2002, the WebJunction portal has
relied on Isoph Blue to provide learning management system capabilities
for its online learning center. Visitors to the portal can browse
a catalog of courses, complete enrollments, and then access a personalized
course menu. WebJunction partners will now have the ability to offer
customized versions of these same capabilities in their own co-branded
WebJunction sites and will also take advantage of Isoph Instructor,
the integrated lesson-authoring component of Isoph Blue, to create
e-learning offerings for their members. "Supporting our community
partners in delivering high-quality e-learning to their members
is a key part of our mission and our ongoing business strategy,"
said Jeff Stauffer, manager of services for WebJunction. "Isoph
made it very easy to extend the success we've had to date throughout
the WebJunction network."
"One of the goals of WebJunction from day one
was sustainability," said Isoph CEO Jeff Cobb. "Isoph
Blue Enterprise capabilities provide WebJunction with a high-value
offering to its partners--one that contributes significantly to
ongoing sustainability. We're thrilled to be supporting broader
dissemination of a program that has already benefited thousands
of users in the library community."
Current WebJunction partners have already begun making
use of the expanded capabilities provided by Isoph Blue, and WebJunction
expects to add many more community partners in the coming years.
